Having studied textiles at Wimbledon art school before gaining a Diploma from the prestigious KLC School of Design, Alice has always been creatively driven.
Passionate about scent, she opened a home fragrance stall at Portobello Market in 2009 that sold candles she had poured at home with scents she developed herself. This was the genesis of what was to come and in 2011 she co-founded Wick & Tallow with James.
Alice is the driving force behind Wick & Tallow, developing client and supplier relationships, overseeing production and business development.
Following a degree in Product Design from Central Saint Martins, James spent fifteen years working for leading design galleries, Carpenters Workshop Gallery and Achille Salvagni Atelier, developing and delivering limited edition contemporary pieces for discerning collectors.
He established Mayfair Design District in 2017 and remains an independent design consultant and curator with an established network within the design industry.
James formally joined Wick & Tallow in 2022 and works closely with Alice to continually develop the creative direction of the business, working with clients on design, strategy and operational logistics.
